Short shank fire hose couplings are suitable for low-pressure firefighting applications, such as light-duty suction or low-pressure discharge of water and other liquids. They connect fire hoses to pipe or equipment and are secured with a clamp and nut. They are more economical than cam-lock fittings, but take more time to connect or remove from hoses.
