Personnel cleaning stations vacuum dust, powders, and chips from workers' clothing and skin. They provide an alternative to dusting off with air guns, which generate potentially dangerous pressures that could cause eye or ear injuries. These stations are powered by compressed air and have a brush attachment to loosen particles so they can be suctioned into the attached tank. Their nonelectrical discharge (NED) protection suppresses static-charge buildup to allow use with combustible materials such as metal or coal dust, flour, grain, and sugar.
