Red brass multipurpose rigid barbed hose fittings are more durable and corrosion-resistant than brass rigid barbed hose fittings. They can withstand high heat and are highly resistant to corrosion from water, saltwater, acid, heat, and minerals. These fittings have NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads on one end and raised ridges (or barbs) on the other end that grip the inside of hoses to hold them in place.
