Polyester vinyl laminate duct hoses are used to blow or exhaust air for dehumidification, enclosed space ventilation and fume-removal, portable air conditioner, preconditioned air, and general ventilation applications in foundries, municipalities, shipyards, and the aerospace and facility-service industries. These flexible hoses are lighter than neoprene-coated polyester hoses and provide positive pressure movement for air, dust, and fumes at low temperature ranges. They are flame-retardant and self-extinguishing, and they resist damage from oils, moisture, ozone, and UV rays. These hoses also have an external vinyl-coated wear strip that protects the hose from abrasion when dragged. The hoses are highly compressible, which saves space when transporting them.

These air duct hoses are primarily used to blow, vacuum, or vent cold or hot air. Some types of duct hoses for air may also be used for moving other materials, such as dust or fumes. The smaller a duct hose's bend radius, the more flexible the hose is. Duct hoses are sometimes known as ventilation hoses, vent hoses, and blower hoses.
