Rice Lake Weighing Systems® cast-iron counterpoise calibration weight undergoes a phosphatizing process in which the metal is thoroughly cleaned and mildly etched to allow finish adhesion. The weight is then coated with a layer of chip-resistant paint which conforms to NIST Handbook 105-1 standards. This 2-step process ensures a long-lasting finish that helps to reduce the possibility of corrosion.
