Product Description

Plate magnets are a type of magnetic separator commonly installed at the bottom of an inclined chute or suspended above a conveyor belt or vibratory feeder to remove occasional ferrous particles and parts from bulk materials that are moving along the chute, conveyor, or vibratory feeder. The magnetic ferrous particles and parts stick to the plate as the conveyed material moves past the face of the magnet. The magnet will hold ferrous material on the plate until the plate is removed and cleaned, and the magnet can be cleaned by hand. Plate magnets are used to prevent ferrous particles and parts from contaminating bulk products during conveying, getting into machinery downstream and causing damage, and potentially creating a spark that could ignite explosive materials.

Magnetic separators use high-strength magnets to capture and remove ferrous particles and parts (sometimes known as tramp metal) from gravel, sand, powders, pellets, wood chips, food products, and other solid materials in bulk conveying applications. This helps prevent the ferrous particles and parts from contaminating the product, getting into machinery downstream and causing damage, and potentially creating a spark that could ignite explosive materials. Separators commonly use ceramic or rare earth magnets. Ceramic magnets can effectively capture large ferrous contaminants such as nuts, bolts, or staples. Rare earth magnets are capable of capturing fine or weakly magnetic material such as rust or scale.
