Standard-duty steel strapping is made from low-carbon steel for securing most moderate-to-heavy loads, such as heavy wooden crates.

Standard steel strapping bands secure heavy loads or loads with irregular or rough edges, such as cement blocks, lumber, and machinery. High-tensile strength prevents the strapping from tearing or pulling apart when pallets and bundles are shipped and handled. They are applied by hand.
